Beautiful! 08 Mar 2016
"A beautiful and exciting scent! This was a real surprise - I was expecting it to be pleasant based on the notes and reviews but I wasn't expecting to fall in love with it. A must have fragrance for women!"
Found it! 21 Aug 2015
"I've been bothering Les Senteurs for samples, but never buying a big bottle of anything, for years; this is where that changes. This, for me, is the perfect blend of smoky, subtle, spicy and ambery, without being too sweet, for which I,ve been searching. I wanted something deep - but most are too heavy; spicy - most are too extrovert: ambery - most are too sweet. I'm an introvert, who doesn't do girly (frills make me look and feel like a bloke in drag - which is fine if you are one, but I'm not) and I work in a field where 'groomed' is good, but 'in your face' is Very, Very, Bad. L'air du desert's spices - cumin, coriander, cardamom - are there throughout, but deep and gentle rather than harsh. The dry-down is woody and sweeter, but never becomes sugary, because the enduring spice notes keep it balanced. If you want a fragrance which will announce your presence -or clear a room, depending on taste - this one isn't for you. If you want something slightly mysterious, which rewards getting closer, give it a try. Personally, I'm in love. I can't afford it, but I've ordered it anyway: I shall be 70 next month, and this is my birthday present to myself!"
Glorious! 08 May 2015
"This is a gloriously wonderful fragrance that is huge and beautiful. It skews very dry and spicy with lots of incense and evokes a very desert air indeed! I think it works best on a man much as I tried to wear it - I bought some and sprayed it on my partner's clothes - he refuses to wear "scent" so he smells lovely and I think secretly likes it too. Fabulous!!"
A Middle Eastern Wonder 26 Jan 2015
"The House of Tauer has created a true wonder. It's provenance is Morocco but it could equally be a delight of the Arabian east. A lot has been said about this perfume and I cannot disagree with any of it. It does give the wearer a sense of being on those market streets of Marrakesh, entwined with the notes of sweetness and Moroccan spices. It has been blended exceptionally and you really do understand why these niche scents cost the money they do. I loved the warmth, almost sensing an Oud quality to the top notes. It develops and keeps that spiciness leading to the final phase, were it gives up it's amber base. There is also cedar wood throughout, a backbone of this scent. This is another perfume I couldn't recommend highly enough. It really should be part of your collection, a true man's scent that will entice your partner as they snuggle up to you by a warm fire."
