Inspiration

Created by Master Perfumer Robert Bienaimé, Mon Boudoir was originally launched in 1919. It was Queen Marie of Romania's favourite perfume; she wore until her death. To celebrate the centenary of its creation the House of Houbigant has revived this inimitable perfume.

The fragrance opens with a brilliant note of bergamot accompanied by intriguing peppery notes. A heart of rose, geranium, ylang ylang and jasmine is wrapped by the velvety notes of iris and heliotrope. On the bottom, patchouli and sandalwood join the most imperial of the ambers, heated by benzoin and musk, embellished with Tahiti vanilla.

Houbigant

Decadent and illustrious, the iconic House of Houbigant is amongst the oldest and most celebrated fragrance houses in the world. In 1775 along Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, a young Jean-Francois Houbigant would hang a basket of flowers, which soon became his calling card and synonymous with the Grande Maison.

Over its two hundred and forty-five-year history, Houbigant would forever revolutionise the world of perfumery with its daring and innovative compositions. In 1882, under the direction of legendary perfumer Paul Parquet, Houbigant launched the fabled Fougere Royale, birthing the Fougere family and the first-ever use of a synthetic accord. Later, in 1912, Robert Bieniame would release yet another defining fragrance, Quelques Fleurs, the world’s first multi-floral bouquet, one that would define the future of modern perfumery. Today Houbigant is the gold standard for French Haute Perfumery, releasing a series of sparkling and captivating compositions, that are decisively modern yet have a subtle tip of the hat to the brand's glorious past.

A true olfactory icon, Houbigant exemplifies timeless elegance, superlative quality, and daring composition whilst remaining grounded in the French tradition of the art of perfumery.
