Inspiration

Set along the shores of a sun-drenched island, fresh morning dew settles on green palm leaves. Light notes of Tahitian gardenia come and go with the rhythm of a transparent, silent sea. A silhouette stretches out over a beach of fine white sand, fringed by notes of Virginian cedar wood.

As a designer influenced by the environment it is natural that James Heeley should be fascinated by the world of scent. It was in France, through his design work and chance encounter with Annick Goutal that the young Englishman discovered the obscure and secret world of perfume and how fragrances are ‘designed’.
With time his beautifully constructed, natural, light scents evolved into more complex creations such as ‘Cardinal’, ‘Cuir Pleine Fleur’ and his more recent collection of ‘Extrait de Parfum’.
As an autodidact, his continually evolving work now contains a varied collection of unique and vibrant scents, each made according to the art of traditional French perfumery.
